Had dreams the night before of time traveling on a sledge – as you do
Lounged around the hotel room, packed, Paul off to meetings I saw Emma for lunch/ Chinese. Was great to catch up
Checked out of hotel (late check out) and off to Gatwick, airport, checked in – bit of confusion as the humorless person behind the desk said that I had to check-in using the electronic machine, I knew that the paper told me that I couldn’t do that, but hey ho. Tried, but I didn’t have my booking reference number, a guy tried to help me, he found the booking ref no, but it still didn’t work so he had to print it out – so – that was 10 minutes of my life wasted
Onto the lounge – nibbled on a very delicious fish finger sandwich – then to plane – Paul was sat in ‘first class’ – flight was fine apart from the very high pitched baby screaming
Arrived Bordeaux, car, homeward bound, in the dark, which was amusing, on the motorway – hardly anyone else on it, so was quite relaxing and 2 hours later we got home
Last night dreampt that had job interview, but job was based 2 hours drive out of London
Lovely start to the day
Out to French lesson, was good, felt better on leaving than when I first arrived
Then later I managed to book a reservation (in French) at Cafe Louise for Thursday night!
Out to Cafe Louise, food was OK – bit odd, and 3 courses not really needed. And Paul’s starter of mozzarella, tomato and basil consisted of a whole large tomato and whole ball of mozzarella – funny
But at least we got some ideas for a color scheme for the kitchen/ dining rooms walls
We had been promised a thunder storm all day, so did wonder if we would have power for question time, but apart from some flashes in the sky on the way home after the meal – the storm never arrived
Started to soak seeds for the geminator
We went out to the shops looking for garden stuff and I thought if I might need one of these?
Make your own crisps?
And into the germinator
The wildlife was quiet
Did my exercise and then enjoyed a banana chai soy smoothie
Made my own hummas!
At night, watched the Birds, and what a great film it is – never really appreciated it before
Thought I would start the day with porridge
And how many time will my phone ask this?
Dreampt Bruce Forsyth was playing an Italian godfather role, his accent was a bit dodgy
Paul spent the day getting ready to go to London/ Swansea
Drove to Limoges, popped into Castrorama (great name) and great store, lots of ideas to help shape the house (and wiki tiki bar)
Dropped Paul at airport, drove back to house – prepared the garage doors to paint them tomorrow
Did my show
And one of my best – really enjoyed it
Started to paint the garage doors
Before and after
Exercise then another lovely soy banana chai smoothie thing
The boys were missing Paul
Seeds looked ready
Tasty with home made hummas
First batch of sprouted alfalfa seeds
And dinner was yummy
More cleaning and dusting as the day before, enjoyed my blueberry smoothie – out to organic and ordinary supermarket
Off to Limoges – picked up Paul – off to Nissan garage to pick up car guide, it was there, but cost £35 – yikes!
Spent the day burning leaves!
Out to Perigueux for dinner – after a bit of a search we went to a typical French place, was OK but mine was a tad greasy – but we tried somewhere new, so hooray to that
Maybe one day we will understand this menu?
Lovely start to the day
Paul put all the ideas together for the kitchen
Onto retail park to look at possible kitchen things, saw lovely white oven thing
Off we were to Bordeaux, to spend the day/ night before flying to London. Locked down the house, saw a praying mantis thing
Drove on the motorway, using cruise control, which is a bit scary to begin with, but certainly makes the journey a little easier on the foot
Into Ikea, for Swedish balls of course, which were delish
We arrived with a white kitchen in mind, but that idea quickly in favour of other colours
Into Bordeaux, eventually found a car park near the hotel (ish)
The room had a very very tiny window
Out for a wander, bit rainy so not the best for browsing – looked nice, main shopping strip a bit boring, could have been anywhere, but side streets looked nice
Back to hotel, after a browse on the tinternet we found restaurant that was number 35 of the 868 restaurants in the city, found was great, very strange being served wine and your dinner with someone holding a baby at the same time
Out to Cafe Paul for breakfast, hotel, packed, out for a little walk, saw one of the ‘sites’ the clock tower
Into the car – bit of a panic as the sat nav doesn’t really ‘do airports’ but we found a sign and all was fine (rhymes)
And very quickly we were in Gatwick
Paul off to Oxford for meeting, he had fun (not) on the trains, mine took ages and was 15 mins late, but got to the hospital for my 6 monthly check up, all fine, don’t have to go now for 8 months
Into the shops, for looking at things, wholefood market, stocked up at boots. Met Jane at Euston and we popped into Southbank for shops and maybe a small red one
Onto Vapiano, met up with peeps, was great to catch up. Back on a train to Gatwick. night cap (s)
Packing, said farewell to the Gatwick rabbits and off we were again
Bordeaux, Castorama, Perigueux for chain saw, L’eclerc for shopping, home!
At night was a full and bright moon, with a refection on the floor
Into the retail park for retail shopping, house nik naks and saw lots of high viz wear in the decathlon
Home, walk through the ‘village’
Terry came round to look at the fire, after a while it was worked out that the wire needed to start the fan
was indeed now behind the fire/ wood that had been added – so a plank needed to be removed – which it was and hey presto – fire!
How many times…..
In Perigueux saw the most tasteless tacky things EVER but wasn’t cheap
Up early to take Jane to the airport, lovely drive, took no time at all. Waved adieu, and Jane will be back in January
The world to the airport was misty and spooky
Home, lunch, off to French lesson, wish the words would stick – but they don’t
Home, dark cloud, rain like this
Thunder, lightning, BANG! electric went, luckily about an hour later Paul realised it might be the main switch that had thrown, and it was, so we were back with electricity, hooray!
Cleaned the house….. Sent birthday postcard to Matty
Later out to Perigueux for dinner via supermarket and model train thing
Did a Halloween display
IT IT IT
Out for spot of shopping, via new route, stopped by Brico on the hill, bought basket for the wood for the fire
Off to Limoges to Pick up Margaret and Pat. Home, and bit of a wander round the village
iTunes decided to die
Out to supermarket, does Daron now ‘do fruit’ ?
The local restaurant at the Ecole has opened again, so table reserved for next Wednesday
Did my show, but before SAM decided to die on laptop, so tried on new laptop, however, did not work…..
#SDR eccentric/ eclectic/ electric
And lo, there was fire….
Looked bright, misty and sunny at the same time
Out to Hautefort, via Cubjac
Sunshine and showers at the same time
The clouds were looming
Out to Excilduil for French lesson, twas good laugh and people were telling me I was doing better – so felt good about that.
Scary show room dummy!
Out to Perigueux for dinner at Chez Manija, great meal, great food, great service
Another fashion faux pa?
Off to Excilduil for the market
They were playing music in the street for some reason
The streets were hectic
Into Kitch Cfae for lunch, loved the new picture in there, but a bit pricey
Onwards to Brantome – via Saint Jean thingy Cole
Then onto Brantome
Back home, quick chnage and out to Cafe Louise for dinner in our bonk-ett – and delish bottle of wine
