Started a small debate re ios8, I am Willy Wonka (tee hee)
  • typical of all things IT at the present time, lots of figgling around while actually doing very little of interest/ use, The camera roll change is case in point, why change it? there is nothing new added at all, oh apart from time lapse? really? fuss and nonsense!

They have to sell us these gimmicks because in truth, there was nothing wrong with the older version but they need something new to sell us, something we don’t need.

It’s completely free.  Assuming you have the older version on an existing iPhone or iPad (going right back to the 4S or iPad 2) you can have this for nothing.  What’s to complain about?

Plenty, but I ain’t complaining, I was giving my opinion thanks – and maybe your iphone is free, but over the last 2 years I have paid, on contract, over £500 for the privilege of having this device.
If the manufacturers of my car figgled around so much changing things just for the sake of it, I would most likely feel the same way, what’s that great saying, oh yes, ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ -People are obsessed with changing things just because they can, if you look at responses from people recently regarding a number of apps, lots of people are talking about the same themes ‘why did you change it’, ‘its worse now’, ‘I can’t believe what they have done’, ‘why have you taken away what I liked’- so why companies allow this figgling around? and why remove what works and what people like to be replaced with something that is not as good? I really do not understand that – anyways -Am seriously thinking about getting another make of phone, like is complicated enough without my pictures on my phone changing how you access them for no good reason 🙂

Found a crazy local spot for coffee/ snacks
IMG_8994 IMG_9002
Out to roof top bar, Gau and Cafe for baileys/ coffee/ wine/ food – great place
IMG_9003 IMG_9004
My trip adviser review
Friendly staff, delicious chilled Rioja. We ate tabula salad and large plate of eggs, bacon, potato and sausage! not very light but we didn’t care. Great roof top location. Only down side was that there was only one choice of lager with alcohol, really fancied a Spanish beer, but hey ho, loved our time there and would go back
Foudn another roof top bar ‘The Roof’  – lush wine and views
IMG_9007 IMG_9018 IMG_9019 IMG_9020 IMG_9027
My trip adviser review
At 15 euros each to go to a roof top we had very high expectations. But actually we really enjoyed our time there. Ok you get a drink for your entrance fee and then the wine was only 4 euros a glass, so was fine. Find a table at the far end away from the bar and watch people walk along the cat walk – great views, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, still a little unsure why its 15 euros, but, sometimes on holiday you do mad things, would go again

Room was lovely, only one night then off to another hotel round the corner for the rest of the trip
IMG_9033 IMG_9036 IMG_9052
Hotel lobby, bit of a wait for room to be ready, so had sushi
IMG_9054 IMG_9055 IMG_9056 IMG_9057
My trip adviser review
Lovely sushi, crazy decor, but really could do without the mad music inside, I know music can add atmosphere, but some of the songs played when in on our visit were just depressing 🙂 Anyway, woudl go again, I had the Dragon meal and would have again as just yummy
Into room with terrace, two floors, complete with pigeons

Roof top bar, Mercado St Anton, ok, nice seting more than good drinks/ food
IMG_9077 IMG_9081 IMG_9082 IMG_9083 IMG_9084 IMG_9085
My trip adviser review
Thursday evening, busy bar area, arrive early ish (just around 7pm) if you want a seat. We had 2 cocktails (Cosmopolitan/ Margarita) – have had much better, was there any alcohol in them? We decided to eat in one of the sit down and eat areas, we ordered Pork burger, with the ‘whole shebang’ and Veg taco with smoked tofu. Burger was fine, served with a few sad fries, but Taco was bland and looked quite sad on the plate. Wine was nice, service a little hap hazard which was strange as not many people in there at that time. Wouldn’t go back, but is a nice setting for maybe one beer

Had lunch, great views, but food was expensive and looked quite sad

My trip adviser review

Popped by, OK, great views over Madrid, the wires stools we perched on were incredibly uncomfortable!

Had a couple of dishes from the Mexican take away, tiny portions that looked quite sad, the vegetarian one was fine, but the ‘juicy beef’ lacked juice! won’t be back

Back to streets, we hit tourist-ville – looked at potential roof top bars, up to the top of Urban Hotel for cocktails

My trip adviser review

OK, at 12 euros cocktails are not cheap, but at least they have some alcohol in with a nice kick, we had margarita and cosmopolitan, lovely!

Great views, nice vibe, friendly service and hotel has a great design vibe about it. will be back

Morning light Vs Evening light

Must be true

Had an idea, it may be crap, but hey, its an idea

Idea is to have on-line closed groups where friends/ colleagues/ special interest groups/ fan groups etc create their own closed groups for invite only to other interested parties

The closed group idea is important as not everyone wants to share things/ be tagged to the whole world

People can choose to leave dates of birthdays/ anniversaries/ important dates

People can upload photos/ links/ latest news etc

Possibly link in other platforms such as twitter, not sure about this one yet – would be good to scoop up info – or make it easy for people to update  – maybe just like tickbox or click thing where people share quickly (one word) whats going on with them – i think having the option for people to be able to txt to the platform might be  a good idea – where this is stored in the platform for people to access/ view/ scoop up

Once a month people would get an email (almost like a newsletter maybe) showing what people in that group have been up to, and what is coming up next month

People can be members of as many groups as they want

Was thinking that each group would have to have three people as admin people so someone has control over management, but people could change and allow other to take over if they wish, but always has to have 3 people (for balance 🙂  )

The picture i have in my mind of this platform, is like a quilt, where different people make/ add something to the overall object and make it grow by their actions

Madrid – Don’t plan to do things in Madrid on a Tuesday

Did one museum, Prada, arrived for free viewing, was a queue but quickly got through, off then to Reina Sofia museum but cloed on Tuesdays, why? Highlight of the day was supposed to be sunset at Egyptian thing but got lost,  sunset looked great too
So went for margarita, took ages to get to the Room Mate Oscar bar, but when i got there the roof was closed, why?
So off I went with incredibly tired legs to another bar, but guess what, it was closed, why?
At this point I may have had enough!
Wandered the streets – passed bars, none looked inviting for +1 only
One looked ok, am in, cheap margarita, and good too! I may have another El Hecho bar!
